Marronaia: anticamente un “luogo dove abbondano
le piante di castagno”.
Il podere La Marronaia è situato in mezzo ai
vigneti e oliveti, sulla sommità di una collina,
poco distante dalla città di San Gimignano.
Le testimonianze riportano che, un tempo, in mezzo
alle piante di castagno, si ergeva una torre di avvistamento
(correva l’anno 1200 ca.). Col trascorrere del
tempo, diminuirono le piante di castagno, e affiancati
alla torre furono costruiti altri edifici.
Intorno alla 1800 La Marronaia divenne di proprietà
del monastero di San Gerolamo e Gimignano, che lo
trasformò in un fattivo podere di campagna,
assumendo così un aspetto più sobrio
e austero. Da allora a oggi diverse sono state le
famiglie che hanno abitato all’interno della
vecchia torre; la quale, col passare degli anni, ha
subito il degrado del tempo, mantenendo tuttavia intatto
l’innato fascino.
Nell’anno 2000 la famiglia Dei acquista il podere
e, dopo un’accurata quanto rispettosa fase di
ristrutturazione, seguendo le linee tradizionali della
vecchia cultura contadina, ha fatto tornare alla luce
le vestigia di un tempo.
L’incantevole posizione, dalla quale si gode
un panorama a 360°, che si estende a nord fin
sulle vette dell’Appennino centrale e a sud
sulla caratteristiche torri di San Gimignano, e la
gestione totalmente a conduzione familiare ne fanno
un luogo ideale per trascorrere vacanze da sogno;
alternando momenti di completo relax a divertenti
percorsi di trekking o piacevoli scorribande in mountainbike
immersi nella sorridente campagna Toscana.
L’azienda, nonostante la sua giovane età,
si distingue anche sul mercato agricolo per la produzione
di vino (Vernaccia di San Gimignano e Chianti Colli
Senesi), e olio di ottima qualità, il tutto
seguendo i metodi della produzione biologica. |
Marronaia
ist der ursprüngliche Namen für einen Ort
an dem viele Kastanien wachsen.
Das Gut La Marronaia liegt inmitten von Weinbergen
und Olivenhainen auf einem Hügel unweit des Städtchens
San Gimignano.
Im 11.Jahrhundert erhob sich nach alten Überlieferungen
inmitten der Kastanienbäume wurden neben dem
Turm weitere Gebäude errichtet.
Um 1800 ging La Marronaia ind en Besitz des San Gerolamo
und Gimignano-Klosters über und wurde in einen
landwirtschaftlichen Betrieb umgewandelt. Seither
haben viele Familien den antiken Turm bewohnt, der
in Lauf der Jahre zwar verwahrloste aber trotzdem
seine ursprüngliche Schönheit beibehielt.
Die Familie Die had das Gut im Jahr 2000 übernommen,
stilgerecht renoviert und somit antike Spuren wieder
ans Licht gebracht.
Von La Marronaia geniesst man enine unvergleichliche
Rundsicht: im Norden nur vom fernen Appennin begrenzt,
im Süden auf die charakteristischen Türme
von San Gimignano. Der Familienbetriev ist ein idealer
Ort zum Ausspannen aber auch Ausgangspunkt für
herrliche Wanderungen und Mauntainbiketouren in der
wunderschönen toskanischen Landschaft.
La Marronaia steht aber auch für biologische
Landwirtschaft. Das Gut erzeut Qualitätsweine
(Vernaccia di San Gimignano und Chianti Colli Senesi)
und Olivenöl von erster Güte.

Marronaia:

Podere La Marronaia is set amidst vineyards and olive
groves on the top of a hill not far from the town
of San Gimignano.
There is every reason to believe that there was once
a watchtower amidst the chestnut trees (around the
year 1200). As time went by the chestnut trees became
fewer and fewer and other buildings were constructed
alongside the tower. Around 1800 La Marronaia became
the property of the monastery of San Gerolamo and
Gimignano, who transformed it into a profitable country
farm, giving it a much more sombre and austere appearance.
Since them various families have lived in the old
tower, which fell into decline over the years without
however losing any of its charm.
In 2000 it was bought by the Dei family and after
careful restoration work, following the traditional
architectural lines of the old farming culture, its
original beauty resurfaced.
The enchanting position with splendid views on all
sides, reaching the peaks of the central Apennines
to the north and the characteristic towers of San
Gimignano to the south, and the fact that it is completely
family run make it the ideal place to spend the holiday
of your dreams; alternating relaxation with enjoyable
trekking or mountain bike excursions immersed in the

Despite its recent establishment, the business has
already made its presence felt on the agricultural
market with the production of top quality wines (Vernaccia
di San Gimignano and Chianti Colli Senesi) and oil,
